Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. She is currently the president and the controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is a California native, Buss grew up in an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon before becoming the owner of Lakers as well as other companies. She felt abandoned emotionally as her parents divorced in the year 1972. As a 19-year-old she inherited management of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as General Manager. Later, she founded the Los Angeles Blades, a professional roller-hockey team. The position she held was the president for Great Western Forum prior to becoming the vice-president of Lakers. Buss' father died in 2013, which is when the Lakers were inherited from him by Buss and her five siblings by way of an inheritance trust. Each of the siblings had the same number of votes.
